Life Less Ordinary to Bring New Homes to Orpington High Street
Plans to bring 40 new luxury flats to established Orpington High Street, have taken a step forward after Life Less Ordinary confirmed that the London Borough of Bromley had approved plans to create a stunning 4/5 storey mixed use development. Construction will start within the next month.
Located in the heart of Orpington’s vibrant high street, the new development will sit alongside an eclectic mix of shops, restaurants and bars and is within easy walking distance of Orpington Station. The beautiful green space of Priory Gardens is also close-by as are several historical attractions. The nearby Orpington GPO restaurant and bar has already confirmed that it will occupy the new 4,000sq ft retail space for use as a florists, butchers, and coffee shop.

Life Less Ordinary comes to Gerrards Cross
We will be working closely with Buckinghamshire Council to maintain and enhance the existing retail usage on the ground floor and explore further residential massing on the building to provide much needed new homes to the area, predominantly aimed at first time buyers.
The proposed scheme will comprise a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments, with each home undergoing a meticulous process of research, planning and design, synonymous with all Life Less Ordinary developments. The development will also include private parking, and a signature, bespoke new homes specification.
The acquisition is part of the new chapter for the area – a popular suburb of London which historically has had a lack of new homes for first time buyers. Enviably located just moments from Gerrards Cross station, commuters can reach London Marylebone in just 20 minutes.

Our vision for the site will create high-quality one- and two- bedroom homes for first time buyers and revived retail space, in a sought-after location at the heart of the village.
Boutique stores, artisan cafes, country pubs and an Everyman picture house, ensure local amenities are not in short supply. Furthermore, its surrounds include rolling hills, meadows and beautiful woodlands that provide the ideal escape for country walks and more active pursuits.
Hinesh Chawda, Director, comments: “Gerrards Cross has long been one of London’s most desirable suburbs, and we are delighted to be able to work alongside Buckinghamshire Council to bring new, impeccably designed homes to the area. Our vision for the site will create high-quality one- and two- bedroom homes for first time buyers and revived retail space, in a sought-after location at the heart of the village. The site will be designed and built by our in-house team, with the acquisition further testament to the confidence in our offering, our team and our approach to development.”
We are always looking for new development opportunities, either with or without planning permission across Greater London. If you are aware of suitable opportunities, please contact our Land Team and visit the Land Acquisition section of our website for more information.
